Vanilla Smoothie Recipe

The best vanilla smoothie recipe! I always accidentally call this a vanilla “milkshake” because it tastes that good!

If someone handed this smoothie to you, you would have no idea how healthy it was for you. I swear, it tastes like a sugar cookie.

It helps curve my mid-day sweet tooth and leaves me absolutely satisfied.

This recipe was inspired from my days working at LiveBeaming. They used to have a vanilla smoothie on the menu that I would constantly order. It’s simple, but so delicious. So, I decided to remake it and add my own twist.

There are so many nutritional benefits packed in this recipe – including collagen, vitamin C, potassium, vitamin K, vitamin A and vitamin E.

This vanilla smoothie recipe calls for bananas, but if you are trying to limit your natural sugars, be my guest! Here’s how: substitute the banana for a 1/4 avocado and 1 tsp of yacon. It makes this recipe low glycemic, but still keeps the smoothie tasting amazing. In fact, you can use this trick for all of my recipes that call for banana!

I also add a handful of spinach in this recipe for some added vitamins and nutrients. You can’t taste it at all. In fact, if you have kids, sneak spinach in their smoothies for some added nutrition. They will never know!

You can even build on to this recipe so easily. Feel free to throw in some frozen blueberries or strawberries and make this into a blueberry or strawberry smoothie. The possibilities are endless!

Sometimes, I even like to make this recipe into a smoothie bowl! You can do this by using less liquid – it makes the consistency a lot thicker! Then, add toppings, such as granola, cacao nibs, coconuts chips, more berries and honey.

You can truly make this recipe into your own or leave it the way it is! I hope you enjoy!
