Here's how to set a table for the holidays

FIRST THINGS FIRST

We are starting from the very first layer: purchase a simple white tablecloth. You can buy a cheap one on amazon, because we are going to layer it so you won't even notice!

A TABLECLOTH

LAYER, LAYER, LAYER

Layer your table cloth with a rough edge linen fabric on top. To be honest, I just used the throw from my bed. Throw the cloth (not perfectly) on the middle of the table.  Throw some beads on top of the throw to add even more layers and detail.

ADD CANDLESTICKS

Candlesticks add so much character to a table, especially a formal dinner. You only pull out the candlesticks for a special night. I love a simple black, but gold is perfect, too!

PLATES + BOWLS

Moving onto bowls and plates. Again, we are layering. To leave more room on the table, I love placing the matching bowl on top of the matching plate. It's all about the  aesthetic, so make sure colors and everything go together.

UTENSILS

For formal dinners, use all of the utensils to set the table.  For here, I went for a neutral look. Wood, silver and it goes seamlessly with the table.

NAPKINS + A TOUCH OF GREEN

Linen napkins wrapped in twine is inexpensive, cute and aesthetically pleasing.  Add an olive branch to your napkin, and it just livens up the table.

GLASSES

Wine, champagne and water glasses complete the table. They are the finished product to your table. They also look so stunning on their own.
